NearSound is a portable, rechargeable wireless speaker that brings your TV's audio to where you're sitting. Set it beside your chair, carry it to the kitchen, or keep it on the nightstand and still hear every word clearly without turning the volume up for the whole house.
NearSound Transmitter.
Digital & Analog Connectivity
The included wireless audio transmitter features both analog and digital audio inputs for the widest compatibility with old and new TVs. Easily hook up any TV, set top box, or other audio device via either digital optical, RCA, or 3.5mm audio output. All cables included.
Even if your TV has built-in Bluetooth, there are several reasons you may want to use the transmitter:
- Use TV speakers and your NearSound speaker at the same time
- Use two or more NearSound speakers with one TV
- Use NearSound without having to go through TV menus for Bluetooth pairing
4 Ways to Connect Your TV
Connect your TV using any ONE of these:
Option 1: 3.5mm Headphone Jack
Easiest connection method for all devices
Use with any jack labeled "Headphone", "Audio Out", or with a headphone symbol
Option 2: RCA Audio Output
Analog connectivity for older TVs
Use only red/white plugs on your TV labeled "Audio Out" or "Output". Jacks labeled "AV IN", "Input", or "Component" will not work
Option 3: Optical Toslink
Digital connectivity for newer TVs
You may need to change the "Audio Output Format" setting to PCM in your TV's audio settings menu
Option 4: Bluetooth
Bluetooth connectivity for TVs with built-in Bluetooth
You may need to change the "Audio Output Format" setting to PCM in your TV's audio settings menu
Low-latency Audio.
The speaker and transmitter work together over a 2.4GHz wireless connection for low-latency audio that minimizes wireless audio delay for improved lip-syncing in movies and TV shows.
Bluetooth Connectivity.
The NearSound speaker also supports Bluetooth for direct pairing with newer Bluetooth-enabled TVs, phones, tablets, and other devices.
Press the MODE button on the back of the speaker to instantly switch between Clear Voice and Dynamic audio modes for clearer dialogue or balanced sound:
Clear Voice Mode (Default)
Boosts speech clarity to make dialogue in movies and TV shows easier to hear over background sounds.
Dynamic Music Mode
A fuller, more balanced sound for music and other audio.
Hearing Aid Compatible.
Unlike TV headphones, NearSound lets you leave your hearing aids in and enjoy their audio amplification together with Clear Voice mode, making dialogue easy to follow with nothing to wear over or around your ears.
Simple One-knob Operation.
One knob powers the NearSound speaker on and adjusts the volume. Once it's set up, NearSound is easy for anyone to use, with no complicated remotes, apps, or menus to navigate.
Expandable Multi-speaker Support.
Use the included transmitter to connect up to 100 NearSound speakers. The volume of each speaker can be adjusted independently. Additional NearSound speakers sold separately.
Note: multiple speakers can be used only with the NearSound transmitter (TV Mode). Multiple speakers cannot be used in Bluetooth Mode, USB Audio Mode, or AUX Input Mode.

Wired Audio: USB Type C
Out of power or using a device without Bluetooth? Simply plug in a USB-C cable into a USB audio device such as a phone, tablet, or computer and use the NearSound as a wired speaker.
Wired Audio: 3.5 mm
The NearSound speaker can be used with devices that have standard 3.5 mm audio out jacks, such as older phones and tablets, stereo receivers, portable radios and DVD players, via the included 3.5 mm audio cable.
Private Listening With Wired Headphones.
The NearSound speaker can also be used with any pair of wired headphones or earphones with a standard 3.5 mm audio connector to create a private listening environment so that you can enjoy your TV audio without bothering roommates, children, or other family members, or watch TV in bed without disturbing your significant other.
To activate, simply connect your wired headphones to the headphone port on the rear of the speaker.
